The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur

I'm not one for make-up primers as I don't have the skin complaints which primers claim to help combat. I am dry/combination and unless foundation is made from cooking oil and raw eggs, foundations tend to sit well on my skin throughout the day. The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur is a primer that has began to pique my interest on my  feelings on primers.
The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur

The Body Shop says:

  • Shine Controlling 12h

I say:
This white gel formulation instantly changes the texture of my complexion. When applied to the skin, it smoothes out the appearance and blurs impurities, hence the name. It also makes the skin feel like velvet, prepping it for make-up application.

I prefer to use this on the areas I need help to control shine. For me, those areas are the space between my eyebrows and the bridge of my nose as these are the parts of my face that look somewhat more glossy during the days I wear foundation. I love what this product does to my nose in particular as pores are less visible, making foundation a dream to apply.

The Body Shop Christmas 2014 Collection

The cosmetics brand synonymous for being cruelty free has recently released their new Christmas collection for 2014. 'Tis the season for scents including Frosted Cranberry, Glazed Apple and Vanilla Brulee from The Body Shop. Products include shower gel, body butter (my personal favorite and latest obsession), hand cream, lip balm, fragrance oil, soap, room spray, shimmer lotion, eau de toilette, reed diffuser, bath jelly, body polish, bath sprinkles, lip gloss and body sparkler. These special ediotns will have you covered whichever you choose to indulge in.  The new scents of body butter are also available as a festive trio (£12 for three 50ml tubs) should you not be able to choose from each delicious Christmas inspired scent.
This year I opted for the body butter and body sparkler in the scent Frosted Cranberry with the hopes of being gifted a lip balm and body butter in Glazed Apple from either my husband or my parents. Thanks in advance mum.

Body Butter - Frosted Cranberry
The Body Shop says:
This fruity Body Butter is a vibrant and juicy-smelling festive favorite for fragrant, soft skin. It contains Community Fair Trade shea butter.
  • Leaves skin feeling softer and smoother
  • Buttery texture
  • Seasonal Frosted Cranberry scent
I say:

Rich and creamy so not unlike any other body butter I have tried from The Body Shop, except this time I smell like Christmas Eve personified. This is exceptionally hydrating for dry skin as it leaves the skin feeling moisturized for the remainder of the working day. The sharp scent lingers for a few hours, leaving you smelling like you have just stepped out of the shower.

The Sparkler - Frosted Cranberry
The Body Shop says:

Frosted Cranberry fragrance with subtle pink sparkle
Outshine the party lights this Christmas! Spritz skin and hair with a fine dusting of lovely rose-tinted, scented sparkles for an illuminating shimmer.
  • Iridescent shimmer
  • Infused with Frosted Cranberry scent
  • Boudoir-beautiful atomiser

I say:
Just in time for all the ladies ditching the fake tan who are in search for the perfect glowing product that will see them over the winter months.Excellent for you if you want an extra hint of sparkle for any upcoming Christmas parties. The atomiser perfectly controls this shimmering product as you spray onto any areas were you want to look as radiant as the angel above your Christmas tree. I recommend arms, legs décolletage - and if you are extra careful you can use this minimally on tops of cheeks as a face highlight. I imagine this will work beautifully as an eyeshadow, particularly as an inner corner highlight to a cranberry smokey eye or perhaps as a centre highlight if you opt for a halo effect. For the perfect illumination, spritz The Sparkler after applying your body butter so that it will cling to the skin all night - not just in texture but also in scent.

These are great stocking fillers or you could opt for treat boxes (£7) or larger treasure tins (£17) making for pretty gifts for your loved ones.
