The Body Shop Christmas 2014 Collection

The cosmetics brand synonymous for being cruelty free has recently released their new Christmas collection for 2014. 'Tis the season for scents including Frosted Cranberry, Glazed Apple and Vanilla Brulee from The Body Shop. Products include shower gel, body butter (my personal favorite and latest obsession), hand cream, lip balm, fragrance oil, soap, room spray, shimmer lotion, eau de toilette, reed diffuser, bath jelly, body polish, bath sprinkles, lip gloss and body sparkler. These special ediotns will have you covered whichever you choose to indulge in.  The new scents of body butter are also available as a festive trio (£12 for three 50ml tubs) should you not be able to choose from each delicious Christmas inspired scent.
This year I opted for the body butter and body sparkler in the scent Frosted Cranberry with the hopes of being gifted a lip balm and body butter in Glazed Apple from either my husband or my parents. Thanks in advance mum.

Body Butter - Frosted Cranberry
The Body Shop says:
This fruity Body Butter is a vibrant and juicy-smelling festive favorite for fragrant, soft skin. It contains Community Fair Trade shea butter.
  • Leaves skin feeling softer and smoother
  • Buttery texture
  • Seasonal Frosted Cranberry scent
I say:

Rich and creamy so not unlike any other body butter I have tried from The Body Shop, except this time I smell like Christmas Eve personified. This is exceptionally hydrating for dry skin as it leaves the skin feeling moisturized for the remainder of the working day. The sharp scent lingers for a few hours, leaving you smelling like you have just stepped out of the shower.

The Sparkler - Frosted Cranberry
The Body Shop says:

Frosted Cranberry fragrance with subtle pink sparkle
Outshine the party lights this Christmas! Spritz skin and hair with a fine dusting of lovely rose-tinted, scented sparkles for an illuminating shimmer.
  • Iridescent shimmer
  • Infused with Frosted Cranberry scent
  • Boudoir-beautiful atomiser

I say:
Just in time for all the ladies ditching the fake tan who are in search for the perfect glowing product that will see them over the winter months.Excellent for you if you want an extra hint of sparkle for any upcoming Christmas parties. The atomiser perfectly controls this shimmering product as you spray onto any areas were you want to look as radiant as the angel above your Christmas tree. I recommend arms, legs décolletage - and if you are extra careful you can use this minimally on tops of cheeks as a face highlight. I imagine this will work beautifully as an eyeshadow, particularly as an inner corner highlight to a cranberry smokey eye or perhaps as a centre highlight if you opt for a halo effect. For the perfect illumination, spritz The Sparkler after applying your body butter so that it will cling to the skin all night - not just in texture but also in scent.

£15 for 10g
These are great stocking fillers or you could opt for treat boxes (£7) or larger treasure tins (£17) making for pretty gifts for your loved ones.

I Love... Mango & Papaya Body Butter

Oh yum!

If I could sum up this product in two words, the above introduction would be it. This body butter is by I Love Cosmetics and often stylised as I Love... on their packaging. I am avid fan of The Body Shop range of body butters, but not their £13 pricetag. I especially love their Mango and Strawberry scented butters and their Vitamin E butter. I was resisting buying more as I have other bath and body products to use up. But then I went shopping in Superdrug last weekend for hair dye and spotted this tub of exotic deliciousness among the remaining scents including Raspberry & Blackberry, Coconut & Cream, Vanilla & Almond and Strawberries & Cream. I couldn't resist trying out I Love... Mango & Papaya, especially as it was on offer for £1.48 (usual RRP £2.99). I bought three (two for me, one for mum) and first tried it yesterday morning before heading to university. I applied the butter to my legs, arms and décolletage before continuing with my regular routine. During yesterday's lecture, and forgetting about my new purchase, I couldn't help but notice a curiously fresh fragrance radiating in the room. This unfamiliar bouquet was even overpowering my daytime perfume and everywhere I went, this essence followed. It was only when I applied it again this morning that I realised that it was, in fact, this inexpensive yet invigoratingly perfumed bath product.
There are no quotes on body butter.
Although, I'm not new to the I Love... range of bath and body skincare, I am new to this particular product. I have previously used their hand wash and now discontinued scents of their body butters.

I Love... says:

"Feel refreshed with a burst of juicy mango and succulent papaya. Coconut and Shea butter leave your skin gorgeously nourished & silky soft, while my gorgeous perfume leaves your skin beautifully fragranced."

I say, I love I Love... Mango & Papaya and almost agree with their statement on this butter. Admittedly, The Body Shop Vitamin E butter leaves my skin feeling softer but for the price, the smooth texture and energizing aroma, I Love... is unbeatable.
Smells good enough to eat.
Oh yum!
