Weleda Wild Rose Day & Night Creams

Living with dry and sensitive skin for years has made me extra cautious of which products/ingredients I use. I once read in one of those old lady women's magazines (the ones with stories you'd only ever witness on Eastenders - both of which I love) that anything infused with rose is meant to hydrate the skin as well as reduce redness and increase elasticity. I immediately bought the Una Brennan Superfacialist Rose Intense Moisture Mask and the Weleda Wild Rose Day Cream and Night Cream. Both brands use organic products, a quality which I openly welcome into my skincare regimen.

I have used both creams over the course of a year, interchanging my skin care routine between these and the Superdrug Vitamin E range but I always find myself gravitating back to these.

Firstly, rose is one of my favourite scents. I love anything rose-scented including candles, incense, essential oils and of course cosmetics. Even the word 'rose' resonates tranquillity with images of a cottage garden. When I apply these wild rose lotions on to my face, I almost feel my skin drinking up the water from nature's bilateral flower.

The day cream claims to "preserve the skin's youthful vitality," whereas the night cream "rejuvenates and replenishes." I am not a skin expert so I can't explain the science behind the claims but I can say they work for me. These are my holy grail skin care products.

Weleda Wilde Rose Day & Night Creams - out of their boxes.
For me, the day cream sits well under make-up preventing foundation soaking into my skin. The night cream rehydrates my skin and when I wake up the next morning my skin feels refreshed and looks dewy. My skin no longer feels tight or dry with these little 30ml miracles.
My skin sans make-up and after applying the Weleda Wild Rose night cream.
Currently, my routine consists of the Cien Lotus & Silk milk cleanser (£2.99 from Lidl) before applying Boots Traditional Skincare Glycerin & Rosewater toner and moisturiser (£2.99 from Boots) and then using wither the Weleda Wild Rose day or night cream. This combination really seems to work for my sensitive skin. You only need a pea-sized amount in order to cover your entire face as both creams are incredibly rich and emollient. A little really does go a long way so make sure you use every single millilitre of these tubes. I certainly did.
Weleda Wilde Rose Day & Night Creams  - dead to the world.
Available from Boots for £12.50 each, (exclusively online) Weleda for £15.95 each and CVS for $28.50. Prices do vary though bear in mind that Boots usually have online 3 for 2 offers. The price for me is expensive considering you only get 30ml per tube. It may be travel friendly but you don't get much product. However, when I consider other factors such as how little I need per application and how lovely my skin looks and feels, it is definitely worth it. I also weigh that up with other rose-infused products from luxury brands which have the exact same ingredients yet an extortionate price tag and I realise that it is a good deal.

So, if you have sensitive and dry skin like me (with occasional combination), these Weleda creams may be what you need to achieve truly soft skin which smells like a country park.
